CHRSD observes International Day of UN Peacekeepers 2026 - Invest in Peace theme
International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers 2026: Invest in Peace

On this occasion, CHRSD paid tribute to the courage, dedication and sacrifice of United Nations peacekeepers serving in conflict-affected regions around the world. The organization also expressed profound respect for those peacekeepers who lost their lives while working to maintain international peace and security.

In a statement, CHRSD noted that peacekeeping remains one of the most effective global instruments for protecting civilians, reducing violence and supporting humanitarian and political solutions in fragile settings.

The organization highlighted Bangladesh’s proud legacy as one of the world’s leading contributors to UN peacekeeping operations. Since 1988, Bangladeshi peacekeepers have served with distinction across numerous missions worldwide, earning international recognition for professionalism, integrity and humanitarian commitment.

CHRSD emphasized that the 2026 theme, “Invest in Peace,” reflects the urgent need for sustained political support, international cooperation and adequate financing for peacekeeping efforts. As global conflicts become increasingly complex, the role of peacekeepers continues to be vital for protecting vulnerable populations and promoting long-term stability.

The organization further stressed the importance of inclusive peacebuilding and acknowledged the growing contributions of women peacekeepers in advancing community trust, protection and gender-responsive peace operations.

CHRSD reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace, human rights, humanitarian values and social development through research, advocacy and public awareness initiatives.

On this important day, CHRSD calls upon governments, institutions and citizens worldwide to strengthen collective efforts toward peace, solidarity and human dignity.

> “Peace does not happen by accident. It requires commitment, cooperation and continuous investment.”
